Merkel noch immer mächtigste Frau der Welt

Die Kanzlerin führte die am Donnerstag (Ortszeit) veröffentlichte Liste der hundert einflussreichsten Frauen der Welt vor der chinesischen Vize-Ministerpräsidentin Wu Yi an, die ihrerseits US-Außenministerin Condoleezza Rice auf Rang zwei ablöste. Unter den Frauen auf den zehn ersten Plätzen sind Merkel und die britische Geschäftsfrau Cynthia Carroll die einzigen Europäerinnen, fünf weitere stammen aus den USA und drei aus Asien.

Die frühere US-First-Lady und heutige Bewerberin um das US-Präsidentenamt, Hillary Rodham Clinton, schaffte es nur auf Platz 25, gefolgt von ihrer demokratischen Parteifreundin Nancy Pelosi, der einflussreichen Sprecherin des US-Repräsentantenhauses.

Es ist erst das vierte Mal, dass "Forbes" eine Liste mächtiger Frauen zusammenstellt - früher gab es nur eine Rangfolge der einflussreichsten Männer weltweit.
