King: "Auch ich wurde missbraucht"

Lady Gagas Auftritt bei den diesjährigen Oscars wird vielen noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben: Mit 50 Opfern legte die Musikerin einen emotionalen Auftritt hin, um auf das Thema sexueller Missbrauch hinzuweisen.

Missbrauch als Teenager
Das löste auch in Schauspielerin Jaime King (Hart of Dixie) viel aus und bewegte sie zu einem Instagram-Post, in dem auch sie sich als Opfer sexuellen Missbrauchs outete. Zu einem Foto, das sie als Jugendlich zeigt schrieb sie: "Ich war hier etwas 14, es begannt mit 12."

Langes Schweigen
Jahrelang wurde King missbraucht und schwieg bis jetzt darüber. Sie erklärte auch, warum sie so lange nicht an die Öffentlichkeit gegangen ist: "Danke an mich selbst, dass mich nicht entschieden habe, das zu einer Coverstory zu machen, wie mir geraten wurde." Ihren Fans auf diese Art von ihrem Schicksal zu erzählen, fühlt sich für die Aktrice und zweifache Mutter ehrlicher an.
