Prinz William und Kate Middleton strahlen auf den offiziellen Fotos zu ihrer Verlobung vor Glück - aber die Bilder sind retouchiert, wie der britische Palast am Dienstag einräumte. Dass der Glanz des königlichen Traumpaares auch ein Verdienst der digitalen Bildbearbeitung ist, wird jedoch nicht als Makel gewertet. "Die endgültigen Porträts sind Kunstwerke", hieß es in einer Mitteilung - genau wie in früheren Zeiten die Gemälde.

Einem Sprecher des Prinzen zufolge wurden "minimale" Änderungen an den Bildern des Starfotografen Mario Testino vorgenommen. So seien lediglich die Belichtung und die Kontraste nachträglich optimiert worden, während das Erscheinungsbild des Paares selbst unverändert geblieben sei. Die Hochzeit von William und Kate ist für den 29. April 2011 geplant.
