Jodie Foster ist für zwei Dinge bekannt, nämlich dafür dass sie erstens eine großartige Schauspielerin ist und zweitens über ihr Liebesleben nicht gerne spricht. Seit Jahren weiß man, dass sie lesbisch ist, dazu äußern wollte sie sich bislang nicht. Umso mehr überraschte sie bei den Golden Globes mit ihrem Coming Out.
"Ich bin Single"
"Ich habe das plötzliche Bedürfnis, etwas zu sagen, dass ich in der Öffentlichkeit noch nie sagen konnte", begann sie ihre Dankesrede, als die Aktrice für ihr Lebenswerk geehrt wurde, "Es ist ein Bekenntnis, das mich ein bisschen nervös macht, aber ich bin nicht so nervös wie mein Sprecher es gerade ist. Ich mache das jetzt, laut und stolz: Ich bin Single." Doch damit war sie noch nicht am Ende mit ihren Geheimnissen. Denn dann setzte sie nach: "Ich hatte mein Coming Out doch schon vor 1.000 Jahren."
