Für "The Carrie Diaries" konnte man die "Gossip Girl"-Produzenten Josh und Stephanie Schwartz gewinnen. Nicht mehr an Bord wird Michael Patrick King sein. Der Drehbuchautor, Regisseur und Produzent von "Sex and the City" erklärte in einem Interview, dass er sich seine Figuren einfach nicht in der Teenie-Zeit vorstellen könnte.
